No it isn't my birthday, but it IS WEEK 16 for Dave, baby, and me! Bad symptoms are still at a low, just the frequent bathroom trips (sorry to keep repeating myself). My appetite has increased a little bit, but nothing too horrible. Daddy Dave is busy doing taxes this week and talk about crabby....nah not really. ;) I did convince him to put a quarter of the money we get back can go towards the making of baby's room and furniture. For those of you concerned, Daddy and I will register for shower gifts probably in April or so. As of right now, we are still house project working. Maybe in the spring, I will work on taking down the very busy wallpaper in the baby's room (if anyone wants to help, let me know!).
+++ baby is between 4 and 5 inches long and weighs a bit less than 3 ounces
+++ the skeletal/nervous systems have made enough connections to coordinate limb and body movements
+++ facial muscles are now well enough developed to allow for a variety of expressions, including squinting and frowning ;)
+++ the baby's eyes are becoming sensitive to light and can even hiccup at this point
Water is still in my daily diet as well as less sugars and hardly any pop (yeah for daddy's help). Thanks for all the support from family and friends to encourage me stop the pop and think healthier as well as eat healthier. Exercising is still present three times a week and now the weather is even starting to cooperate so soon we can walk outside! My Wednesdays off are considering a cleaning day every other week (no worries, no dangerous chemicals are use by me). I also like to help my husband upstairs for I know there will come time in my pregnancy where I won't be able to help him nor really want to considering how I might feel.
QUESTIONS
1. Does one's abs adjust with the pregnancy? (meaning when I lie on my back, I feel a bump while tracing my fingers from my ribs to my belly button)
2. How much sleep is good for mommy and baby?
3. I know saunas are not recommended, but what about hot baths from time to time?
PARTING WORDS
No complaining from me going on yet. I do know the time is to come, but as of yet it is not around. Valentine's Day was very nice and pleasant. We watched a SUPERB movie called "Fireproof." Totally recommended. I can't wait until the weather becomes warmer....I am tired of having ...cold feet! lol. And on that note, I will sign off here from the "White House." Until next week everyone take care and stay warm!

Two mommies and baby!
Well we are starting week 15 and doing super. Mommy still has barely any bad signs of pregnancy. There is no swelling, no throwing up, no cravings (daddy is lucky), barely any crabbiness, and mainly just using the bathroom frequently still (I don't think that will change any time soon!). The major event that happened this past week (on Wednesday) was Ann and her mom got to hear the heartbeat of grandchild #1 (on Ann's side) and #12 (on Dave's side). Yep, it TOTALLY brought home the fact that there is a baby in my tummy! I mean I knew it was there, but the heartbeat put it all in perspective. Yes, there were even a few tears of joy shed by both mommies. :)
+++ this week, baby's eyebrows and hair on the scalp are starting to appear
+++ the ears and eyes now have baby-like appearance and almost reached their final position
+++ the skin for baby is developing, but is so thin that you can see the blood vessels through it
+++ the bone and marrow are continuing to develop along with the baby's skeletal system
+++ by the end of the week the baby should be able to make a fist (hopefully I won't feel this
for a while though!)
Mommy is still drinking her water and in fact, she has almost cut pop out of her diet completely. On occasion I can have some, but V8 Splash and other juices are better then the pop and sugar drinks. The weekly walks have continued (actually we try to walk three times a week-inside of course).

Life is continuing to be good. I found out that I can have the baby in my room after delivery and s/he will stay with me unless I need some sleep and then visitors can see s/he during that time or when I am bathing. In other news, I felt useful and helped Daddy Dave with some nail pulling upstairs as we start to remodel our bedroom/bathroom. No worries though, both of us wore masks and didn't do more then an hour of work. Not much else here from the "White House." Take care and chat with everyone next week. :)

Easy as 1,2,3...but 4 months along that is!
We are back and ready for action. Actually, we took off Sunday, the SuperBowl. As of Saturday we are 14 weeks along or as some say, four months is now starting. :) We are very excited and yet to have baby let us know he/she is there, but we obviously know! This week I have another checkup and may even be able to hear a heartbeat! You will know more next week...have to wait sorry.
+++ this month my uterus is about the size of a small melon
+++ baby is getting longer and heavier
+++ fingerprints and toe prints have developed
+++ baby's bones are getting harder and arms/legs are moving
Mommy is still drinking plenty of water and also has added V8 splash to her diet to get all those yummy vegetables, while getting rid of pop slowly but surely. No big changes yet. I am however, getting more nosebleeds, but that is due to the increase of temperature in the house (daddy Dave wants to keep Ann from freezing). Also exercise is continuing and doctor says that is good for all three of us all around. So all in all life is still good at our little "White House" on the corner!
QUESTIONS
1. When is a good time to have baby listen to music in the womb?
2. Any other tips/advice on what baby can hear or what is good/bad for baby at this time? ( I know diet pop and all other dietary needs, etc.)
PARTING WORDS
Life is good, work is going well. Of course work is work, but hey it is all good. Nothing too stressful in my life, just day to day living and working and taking care of baby and me. :)
